In America thousands of people will be preparing spectacular dishes to serve for the 4th July celebrations.

There are plenty of tasty recipes that are cooked in America during the 4th July that are delicious and can be made in the UK during the summer. These are two American style recipes that you should when throwing a party for family and friends.

Pull-Apart cheeseburger sliders

You will need:

  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 diced onion
  • 2 cloves of minced garlic
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 12 slider buns
  • 4 tablespoon melted butter
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 °F
  2. Heat olive oil in a large frying pain on medium heat, sauté onions until they are soft.
  3. Add garlic and cook for about thirty seconds until the garlic becomes fragrant.
  4. Add ground meat and stir to break the meat up, continue until the meat is cooked through.
  5. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and mustard.
  6. Season with salt and pepper then remove the pan from the cooker draining excess fat.
  7. Using a 9x13 baking dish spray the dish with cooking spray, placing the bottom half of the buns in the dish.
  8. Top with mince mixture
  9. Add sliced cheese onto the top of the slider, and then add the top half of the bun.
  10. Brush top of the bun with melted butter sprinkling garlic and sesame seeds.
  11. Bake buns until cheese melts and everything is warmed (15-20 minutes).

BBQ Grilled Chicken

You will need

  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 c. BBQ sauce
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken drumsticks and chicken breasts
  • Kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Extra-virgin olive oil

Directions

  1. Whisk together lime juice, honey, hot sauce and BBQ sauce, save half a cup for serving.
  2. In a large bowl mix the chicken with season salt and pepper and olive oil.
  3. Oil grates and grill chicken on high heat.
  4. Cover with the marinade sauce and grill until it becomes charred.
  5. 8 minutes per side for breasts and 10 -12 minutes per side on legs.
