Our high quality butchers blocks are manufactured in Italy & are made from extremely hard wearing interlocked Acacia wood with strong rods across the whole block to prevent expansion & cracking of the block.
The butchers block is dried in a traditional oven to prevent warping & with the strong rods & special glue the butcher block are secured together tightly & efficiently.
Acacia is a sustainable, dense & a durable hardwood that can withstand the elements.
Acacia is harder than Maple and has less porosity (void spaces between) than a lot of other hardwoods.
All our wooden butchers blocks are made with end grain.
The blocks are made 200mm thick, thicker than most other blocks on the market adding extra weight to the block which makes it a truly solid base when being struck with a cleaver.
